Does she like me or only see me as a friend?

I have a female friend that I often question my friendship with because of her behaviour. Here are some things I have observed from her:

-She will only nitpick and be playfully mean to me and no other guy.
-She likes to play hot and cold.
-In group discussions she will stand very close to me or if she stands away from me she will look at me from a distance.
-If I am upset or not in a good mood she will check to see if I am okay.
-I can get away with saying certain things to her that I’ve noticed other guys can’t get away with.
-She said to me numerous times that I am the only guy she trust.
-She never talks about other guys to me or mention how attractive other guys are.
-When I am not in class, she will sometimes text me that she misses me.

Furthermore, the other day I left school early because I had a unexpected situation come up. I left without saying goodbye to her and then 30minutes later she calls me to ask why I didn’t say goodbye to her and that she was worried about me.

What is your take on my friendship with this girl and how you suggest I move from here.

It seems obvious to me that she has a liking for you.

All those little hints lead me to think that she is expecting you to make a move and to take the lead. However, when you mention school, what kind of school are you referring to because at your age, I doubt that you still go to school, college or even university. Could it be that your actual age does not correspond to the one you give on your account?

If you are indeed 31, then it seems strange to me that you need to ask total strangers how you should proceed with this lady. I am more inclined to believe that you are actually much younger than you pretend to be because a 31 year old man would know how to handle this situation.

Why don't you just talk to this lady and ask her why she behaves the way she does? That should give you all the answers you are seeking. Good luck.

I think she likes you. A problem in the friend zone, can be the friendship is so functional and valuable that you she don't want to lose that. If you want more than friends then you need to make it sexual and hope she is willing to go there.

You could just tell her though I think talking is over rated. Or just warm it up asking for a hug or kiss. A hug is not out of scope for friends so maybe a good transitioning point.

Do you know why she doesn't trust other guys? If it is because she trusts you not to get sexual with her you have problem and need to be slow till she gets used to the idea. That's why I am suggesting low level stuff like hugging, taking her hand etc

No doubt the thought has crossed her mind. But she already is getting what she wants without actually dating you.
