Guys do you genuinely not realise when a girl is a tease and leading you on? Girls how do you feel about girls who do this?

Ok, so I was flirting with a new guy who seemed really cool and actually seemed to be really interested in me. It had been going on for a couple of weeks (only see him a few times a week), but then he suddenly went completely cold, like totally blanking me and acting like I didn’t exist. I couldn’t figure out what had happened until I saw him with a girl.

Fair enough, he met someone he liked more, but thing is she’s blatantly a tease. She’s very pretty, has a good figure, definitely “hot”, but the main thing is she does the whole flirty thing ALL the time, with everyone! Basically acts as though she fancies everyone.

She literally flutters her eyelashes and giggles, gives the demure little smile and does that whole peering up through her eye lashes with her head cocked to one side move CONSTANTLY.

This guy drooled after her for a bit, she strung him along, then after leading him on she left him in the dust. He didn’t even get a date. I’ve not spoken to him since, but I’m told he was gutted.

My question is…

Guy, do you seriously not see these kind of girls coming? To me, as a woman, it’s obvious and it drives me nuts when men always fall for it.

Girls how do you feel about girls/women that do this? I honestly hate how manipulative it is and how it gives the rest of us girls a bad name!

LOL! Trust us, most women don’t get men either! But a lot of women do think men should be physhic and can have some really unrealistic expectations of men. Men and women are just hardwired differently.

I mean we are opportunists and very visual primed. If something better looking/attractive comes along and we aren't in a commited relationship we will take the risk.

And its hard to know if a girl is just a tease, afterall they won't make eyes to other guys while beeing with you. And its hard to deny that girls who are confident and know how to use their strenghts/ how to flirt are very very attractive.

I suppose so, and if a guy isn’t interested in a relationship it’s just a bit of fun anyway. But this guy did get hurt.

It also seems to have a lot to do with the whole demure vulnerability act, men seem to go gaga for that! It’s actually really confusing as a woman. We’re told NOT to be needy, but then we apparently do have to be needy, but just the right kind of needy - enough to make a guy feel wanted/special, but not so much as to make him feel trapped.

Well you win some you loose some. there's studies that men are evolutionary more primed to take risks like that while women are more the opposite.

Hey its not easy for everyone to understand your opposite gender, it sometimes feels like were speaking a different language haha.

I think the clue here is that guys want to feel the chase but dont want to chase to long. I think its fine to excpect a guy to make the first move but after that a girl should show interest aswell.

by the way I think the same applies for girls aswell. Whats more attractive for you, a guy that is easy to have and "mr. nice guy" of the bat or someone who keeps a bit of mystery and were you are challenged?

Oh yeah! It definitely feels like, if something’s too easy then it mustn’t be worth having. Half the fun of the start of a relationship is the chasing and flirting, the not knowing and the anticipation. Although it does get old after a while, and right now I would happily take the straight forward good guy who is obviously interested me, over the mysterious guy who doesn’t give much away and ultimately breaks your heart. I’m over people who play games.

Plus I don’t agree a guy should do all the chasing, I’ve given several guys I was flirting with my number without them asking for it, and asked other guys out on dates, with mixed results.
It’s just really frustrating when a guy can change his mind so easily, especially when you can see that the other girl is only playing with him and he just doesn’t see it or even care at that point. She only cares about getting as many guys as possible to fancy her.

The vulnerability act is doing the dumb, damsel-in-distress, “I need a big strong man like you to protect me” act. It’s so contrived and fake.

A lot of guys do genuinely struggle with reading women's behaviors. The fact is that most men get so little positive interaction with women that anything even remotely flirtatious is interpreted as a much bigger deal than it really is because of how rare the interactions are.

Yeah, there was a really cool guy I used to be friends with. He was attractive but not particularly good looking, but he always had girls after him because he was so comfortable around women and knew how to talk to them so easily. He was a good guy (not a “nice guy” though). and really funny too!

It seems like there are certain guys that women just kind of... choose. If you're one of those guys, you get a lot of attention and women will dote on you. If you aren't one of those guys, women seem to largely ignore you. If a man doesn't have that additional "sexy" factor, he'll be accepted by lots of women but as a friend or brother instead of a partner.

Personality and social skills definitely play a big part of it. It seems like there is also something else that I've never been able to identify.

I think a lot of that is down to being self-assured, like some of the guys on here have said a confident woman is very attractive, same goes for men too. I’ve met some very confident men, who aren’t the best looking, but are incredibly attractive. They often turn out to be jerks mind you, which you don’t realise until they’ve broken your heart, so I guess it’s the same thing as women who lead men on. Looks like the conversation has gone full circle here!!

That's likely what he's doing. He's just trying to make you jealous, to get you to tell him how you feel

The easy answer is no especially figuring out if a woman leads a go on or is just shy and not willing to commit yet can be hard for some guys to figure because she either presses the right buttons to keep him interested or he has no help and not enough experience with women.

I usually know when a woman specifically wants to prick tease me, and if/when she does, it just makes me want to melt, and I'll usually just fall at her feet. I love it so much when a beautiful woman teases me viciously, when I know she's never going to let me have sex with her! I know most guys hate that, but I love it!
