Guys: If you playfully tease one particular girl all the time, is it another way of you showing interest?

I moved to this school 3-4 months ago and I've settled in long before this guy and I became friends. He's really outgoing & good-looking but he's never smiled at me/introduced himself to me, etc. when I first came in. Surely if he was really friendly he would've done this a long time ago? We also have one class together so that's how he knows my name, and since 2 weeks ago he ALWAYS sings my name at least once a day. E.g. Twice last week, I was hanging out with my friends and he was hanging out with his (we have the same circle of friends. Sort of) he came up to me and started singing my name and then walked off. Then during our class together he sang my name twice 2 weeks ago (he sits in front of me). And once after our class he was slowly putting his coat on and his friends have already gone off. When I started walking out the door he sang my name again and caught up with me and we had a little chat, but then he just walked off :s Why? He KNOWS he's good-looking and once he insisted his best mate to give him his best mate's phone cause the vid of him was in it. The vid was hilarious but the fact that he was eventually wearing briefs cause he was playfully stripteasing for his (male) roommate and that he walked with me to show ME the video was a bit weird haha. And, as a guy, if you playfully tease a girl does it necessarily mean you're interested in her or is that just a friendly gesture?
