If you’re truly 36 years old and asking this, then I can tell you have limited experience with women. You have to put yourself in the shoes of a woman - even average looking girls have options. Naturally, most people want the best they can get and testing the men in their life gives them the answer they’re looking for: is he a real man or a beta/simp?

The amount of ways women test men are LEGION. It can range from simply pulling back to see if the guy chases after her (she could see him as needy or desperate), not texting him back for a whole day, talking about other men, trying to set the rules in the relationship, putting him in the friendzone, to straight up even mocking the guy to see if he maintains his cool.

Point is, you must be like James Bond (Daniel Craig version). No matter how hard women rejected him or mock him or try to control him, he’s always in control of himself. The last James Bond film was a Feminist bastardization (along with Hollywood in general now)
