So a little back story, I met this girl at a bar once but didn’t talk much and tell her to cheer up bc she looked she was not having fun which made her laugh. The week after I saw her again and my friend was trying to set me up with her. I could say he was doing too much but after he left. I apologized to her about my friend and she said it was fine and she told my friend that I was cute. Obviously drunk me freaked out but I got her snap and everything. She told my friend I was little weird ( I was drunk) but was really nice. My problem is that I try not to do too much…. Which means shortening the answers and take an hour or two to answer. Its hard not too respond quick bc she responds quick when we talk and I don’t wanna look obsessive. Last night the convo was dying down so I just sent a snap of myself and proceed. She snaps quickly but that doesn’t mean anything. It’s weird bc we be having normal convos but I don't know if she has the interest. Rn I don’t wanna go overboard bc the last girl I did, we went on a date than told me she wasn’t ready. I don’t wanna go through that again. In the end I’m being myself by being funny but rn I don't know what to do besides just not try too much

What Girls Said
First and foremost: get your conversations off the texts. Seriously, there’s so much more value to asking questions and getting answers in person vs trying to hold a conversation through text all day every day, even if you purposely take long to respond.
And about that, another tip for just in general is to stop playing childish games before you win a childish prize. There is absolutely no reason to
make your responses shorter and take longer to respond other than you making her pay for what another woman said or did. That’s no way to approach a totally new/separate situation with someone. She deserves a clean slate and regular effort, not minimized and half-assed because you fear what happened last time.
Even with your concerns about that, here’s a fact of life when it comes to things not working out: sometimes they just don’t. You could do every little thing correct and still not wind up with that person either for their own reasons or yours.
So be yourself, put in normal effort, ask her out on a date and get that conversation out of the messaging phase if your are truly interested, because I promise putting this unhealed version of yourself on the market will ultimately backfire.
