If She's my family, an important Friend of mine or the one Girl I've got my eyes for, sure I do. Otherwise, why bother? Worst that can happen is me being sued for perceived "sexism" (like in "considering women the weaker sex", like it had anything to do with that). I guess I might do that when exiting or entering a building with large and heavy swinging doors, but I won't differentiate between men and women in this case. If I'm the one in the front, I'll hold the door for those coming behind me, simple as that.

This is one of the best examples of double standards. I find myself doing it, but I know I shouldn't, but if I don't I worry I'm being rude. So I just open the door for anyone lol.

Just a couple nights ago when I got home, I had a couple boxes and two younger boys held the door open to my apartment lobby and even offered to carry my boxes to my door! It was amazing! They were only like 14, 15 years old. I always appreciate anyone that does something nice for me. I open doors for people.

I do open doors, and have for decades. Most women thank me. I don't stand there looking for points, though.

However, since early feminism came on the scene, I received a lot of hostile comments about my assumed motivations. I still open doors for others, and screw the hostile folks. They'll learn.

In my culture, it is considered a standard :D I had a hard time moving out from Poland, needed some time to get used to the changed rules :D Of course I like it, but don't require it.
