Well, You know... It's simply economical to give up on those who cannot support themselves. Like... You know how we can provide the elderly and the disabled with palliative care and even some kind of palliative therapy? Even if we can't cure them, we can ease (or even cancel) their pain and allow them to live as long as possible. However, this kind of care is quite costly and can only extend the lifespan of the terminally ill to some very limited extent. It's simply cheaper and easier to kill (euthanize) them. And as for the elderly, the sooner they die, the sooner their children will get their inheritance, and what do those elderly even need any possesions for if they are going to die soon anyway?
Now, I hope You did catch on my sarcasm. The society is becoming more and more utilitarian, getting rid of anyone who cannot "earn" their right to live (and leaving behind their humanity, as well). Is it wrong? Yes, it is. It it possible to reverse this trend? Well... With enough executions, it could be reversed, but we would become monsters ourselves in order to eradicate the monsters, so is it really worth it? What we can do is take care of our elderly and disabled and protect them from being killed because of this kind of greed and attempt to outlive this rotting society of ours.

In some cases, I think you'd be doing them a favour. One of my best friends has an older sister who's so bad, she can do nothing but lay in bed 24/7! She can't talk, she probably can't think, she's in her 50's, now and still needs to have her diapers changed. That's just NO way to live!!
A friend of my aunt's has a son whose in his 20's and has to be wheeled around strapped into a stroller, slobbers all over himself, can't talk, can barely think, he can't feed or take care of himself. His dad hates him and has nothing to do with him so, if his mother dies, what's gonna become of him? Again, that's no way to live!
One of my ex-guitarist comes from an Irish-catholic family and, apparently, the parents SHOULDN'T have had any kids!! They have at least 9 and all but 2 or 3 of them are severely abnormal. Other than a huge brown spot on his forehead, I don't know that there's anything wrong with John but his twin brother is about 18" shorter and can't straighten his legs. They're perpetually bent at the knee and slightly knock-kneed. A couple of the others are just vegetables, some can just barely get around in a wheelchair.
I don't see the point of bringing people like that into the world. Living like that MUST be hell for them and their parents!!
If there was some way that science/medicine could fix them to be perfectly normal, that's one thing but, to have to go through life like that must be a nightmare for them! I wouldn't count on it being any kind of fun for their parents or siblings, either.
i would never judge... and you don't know what it's like until you went through something like that personally... where you can say oh he doesn't deserve to live... i dispise greatly someone so judgmental as to say those words... we're here now and it's really short... some of us die at all different ages... i don't believe in ever saying or thinking something like that.
I did a paper on disability and religion a year ago. a lot of people are convinced that if they have a disability, or a disabled child, they have been reprimanded by God for their sins. Considering Moses had a disability, all of that is malarkey. Others who voice this opinion just want to troll

Disabled people that are that way through no fault of their own. Disabled veterans, birth defects and accidents. I would go out of my way to help. People that did things like illegal drugs, DUI, and other stupid things. That caused the disability. I have problems with showing them support for their disability.
Who thinks that? What is their definition of a useless disabled person?
Who said that? That's crazy and so sick whoever said that.
That's just sad.. I try to ignore people like that.
I've never seen that here, but it is sad and sickening.
