It's just that we aren't emotionally compatible due to different life experiences and narratives. And so I don't know who's who and I seem to be taking it out on them all.

Men and women are different; sure, that's a given. They're different for a reason: a male/female pair is designed to be complementary in many regards. What one lacks, the other specializes in, and this means the pair can lean on each other's strengths.
