Because appearance is the only thing that matters except money. Do you think Jennifer Lawrence would date an overweight guy with acne and a bad nose? No because western society is a social and moral wasteland. Truly hell on earth. Morality means nothing in the us. Just gratification, perversion and entitlement. Not to mention greed, apathy, social caste and the complete absence of intelligence and honor.

we give too much value to appearance, so that makes the more insecure people even more self-conscious about how they feel they're perceived by others
