I can understand meeting a good looking person for coffee but chasing him when he tries to make you jealous, stalking girls he claims to be interested in, chasing after a guy for years and years when he does not chase you, ruining your life for no other reason than his body and face. I consider that a psychiatric disease.

Honestly that's fair, it's understandable if someone views themselves as attractive if they are but it's another to be a narcissist.

He is considered to be a narcissist. But you would also have to question the women chasing him for his looks, despite him having a bad character.
I mean imagine chasing after someone who really doesn't care about who he/she hurts but are still being obsessed on purely on their looks. However, at the same time there are other good souls being dismissed others as they are not facially blessed, despite having so much inner beauty.
The fault lies with the chaser too.
I think some people are too self into it. It becomes narcissism sometimes and all about self image.
some people like looking beautiful or handsome which there is nothing wrong with.
But some people hide the ugly on the inside with outside appearance.
100% Accurate. I care more for a confident personality than looks. Once I find the combination of the two, it often falls in line with how they look.

But you may feel so embarrassed, ashamed and anxious that you may avoid many social situations
Of course, anything to the extreme can be a symptom mental disorder. Simply taking pride in the way you look is not a mental disease.
Any view that thinks that it does is extreme.
Any educated Psychiatrist will tell you that you can't just look at someone and say they have a problem.

Perhaps if they're narcissistic.
