I went up to a girl today at the mall and said,” i hope you know cpr, cause you took my breath away”, she started laughing real hard and her friends laughed real hard and i thought they were making fun of me. Since i thought they were laughing at me I walked away. Then when i walked on the escalator i saw her from far away and her face was red

You walking away fucked it up, your best bet there was to ask her if that was cheesy, she would've most likely replied with yea then you say that it needs work but its the best you can come up with with the time you had, but you thought she was pretty and if you can get her number that it will give you enough time to come up with a better one so you can get a redo then laugh it off with confidence, your awkwardness was your downfall, not the cheesiness, you made her laugh, but the awkwardness ruined it, her laughing weither it was cheesy or just bad that it was funny, you could be saved it
