Interesting they included a Russian character at time the cold War was in full swing
You know, what's even crazier? The main motivation to give him the role was because the producer wanted a young guy looking like the English musician David Thomas Jones from The Monkees! 🙂
@purplepoppy Gene Roddenberry, Star Trek creator, wanted to show a future world without discrimination. That's why he had American, Scottish, Japanese and Russian main characters, plus an assortment of various aliens.
If he did that now half of America would be screaming WOKE and demanding the show was banned.
This is so sad but 100% true.
Yes, I do. Star Trek 6 - The Undiscovered Country is my favorite movie with the original Star Trek crew. Godspeed, Commander Chekov! 🫡
I remember the character but the memories are not strong.
never been a fan of the Stars' shows... so, I don't really know them
I’ve never heard of him but I’ve heard of William Shatner before and he’s still alive.
I was surprised that he was 90 years old. I guess William Shatner and George Takai are the only ones left from the crew on the Enterprise.
@AviatorTom Wish he could have explored outer space.
God's speed Checkov. First star to the left and straight on till morning.
Shatners like a hundred.
Yes I do
this is a niche tv show not for everyone
