Why does my mother gets upset when I don't wear socks?

I've always disliked socks but my mother always hated that.

When I was 20 I went to live on my own and I stopped wearing socks. Now I'm 26 and she still gets upset when she sees me without socks.

Maybe she's afraid it'll make your shoes stink and those are WAY more expensive than your socks.

She always says different things. Sometimes she says I'll hurt my feet into my shoes, sometimes she says it's unhygienic. When I remove my shoes she says I'll get cold and I should wear socks

At this point, it’s something you two disagree on. You’re an adult. You’re going to have to get use to doing things that don’t always please your parents and be okay with it.
