Why is my sister so worried about her son’s height?

Are most women like that? She said he’s the second shortest in the class and that she worried about her son being short because her husband isn’t very tall (5’9) and she’s 5’3 and that she’s worried he might get his height from our side of the family. But why does it even matter if he’s short?

I don't really get why moms stress so much about height, dude. Sure, some girls like taller guys, but who cares what anyone else thinks?

Most women probably just want what's best for their sons deep down, so she's probably coming from a good place even if it seems extra. My mom frets over dumb stuff too sometimes.

As for height, there's not much you can do about your genes anyway! Your cousin could end up as tall as you one day, you never know. Or he may just be average height, so what? As long as he's healthy that's all that really matters.

I'd tell your sister to just focus on more important things, like teaching him good values and skills for life. How tall he is won't define who he becomes as a dude. Tom Holland and Prince are short kings and totally crush it!

Maybe kindly let your sister know she's overthinking, and that you'll look out for your little cousin no matter what. His awesomeness has nothing to do with numbers on a measuring tape. He's family - that's all that matters!

She may be looking at it from the perspective of how a lot of women look at men. Not from a mother’s point t of view. Meaning if he’s short chances are not many chicks will date him. Maybe she’s also looking at it from a perspective of he’s not that tall he may not be able to make it into college playing sports, making it to the professional level. As a mom she may be think not only will boys pick on him but girls will too. Maybe she’s looking at it as though she thinks he will have low self-esteem because of his height.

she is a mother, she wants the best for her kid, say no matter what being short as a guy sucks, play the height is not everything or i don't give a damn about what anyone elses thinks or people who cares about heights are shallow/idiotic bullshit, being taller makes people especially guys feels better about themselves and this is a fact of basic biology, bigger the better.
