Girl talks to other guys normally but nervous or uncomfortable with me?

I saw her today talking to a guy, possibly about studying or whatever, and I didn't realize how much of a talker she is. It made me remember the times I used to go and ask her questions, but she always replied with limited answers. Also, she avoids eye contact with me – every time our eyes meet, she quickly looks away. I'm wondering if she's just nervous or if she really dislikes me. The reason I'm asking is because the guys she talks with like this aren't really the best-looking, and I can't imagine they are her type (respectfully)

If I were in this situation, I tend to be self-critical first. Not blaming the other person for what they might be going through, but doing some reflection and soul searching to see if I did something wrong, said something wrong, or came off wrong. Because of the way I speak sometimes, I'll have unintentionally said something that made someone else upset or uncomfortable. Sometimes I may not have worded something "quite right" and it came off vulgar, inappropriate, heartless, or something similar.

So I would say soul search. See if you did something wrong. If you think you did, talk with her and verify. "So, I'm not sure if I did something wrong, but I feel like I might have, and if that's the case, I want to say sorry. The only thing I could think of was ______. I don't know if that's it, but if it was, I'm sorry and I didn't intend for it to come off badly. But if that's not it, would you be able to clarify if there might be something I did or said wrong? I don't want you to be upset with me or feel uncomfortable around me, so if I can fix this, I'd really like that."

That sort of thing. And if she says you didn't do anything wrong, don't dig too hard. One follow-up might be, "Are you sure? I'm open and okay if there's something I might have done wrong." If she confirms that nothing is wrong, leave it be. See if the situation resolves or gets better, and if it doesn't, you might just cut ties if it seems like she's uncomfortable around you. Move on.

If she does say that something is wrong, be open to it and gentle with her. Not everyone feels comfortable saying something that's on their mind for fear of someone else reacting badly. So don't be that guy. You might say "I didn't realize that was a problem. I'm sorry I made you feel that way. I'll need to think about this and see if there's something I can work on or fix to be a better friend. I appreciate you being open to telling me how you felt."

Maybe she really likes you, and is nervous around you for that reason. If you like her, try being as nice to her as possible so she will start to feel comfortable around her, then try asking her out.

I don't really think this is the case. Girls usually stare at guys they like from a distance, at least from my experience. She doesn't do that. Thanks for the advice though; I appreciate it.

Well can you think of a reason why she wouldn't like you? If you have limited contact with her she probably doesn't have one which means that isn't likely the case. Now I could see the opposite being true. If she likes you she could act nervous and shy. Don't take this to mean that she for sure has a thing for you but it is more common than you think. Do you talk to her at all? Maybe these other guys she talks to a lot she is comfortable with and has known for a while. That could be another reason. Just because she is talkative with a guy doesn't automatically mean she has a thing for him. They may just be friends or know each other fairly well.

Not really, I haven't done anything that may creep her out or something, Just asked her simple questions, She talked to me once, but she was so nervous and gave me awkward smiles.

To me that isn't a dislike for you. I think if anything she might have a thing or bit of a crush. She gets nervous and smiles says a lot.

I meaan, I have thought of that, But if she had a crush, wouldn't she at least stare from a distance? I usually catch girls doing that, but in her case, she doesn't. It makes me wonder if I acted wrong unconsciously or something.

No just because she doesn't stare at you in certain circumstances doesn't mean a thing. People are different. Some might and others not. More important to look at the whole picture of what positive signs there are.

I don't really think so. Girls who had a crush on me in the past used to stare at me from a distance, thinking I didn't notice. However, she doesn't do that.
