I am hearing about this happening to women more often now. I also noticed that feminists have conveniently gotten quieter on their “oh the friendzone doesn’t exist” and “if you are in the friendzone you put yourself there” bs they were saying a few years ago.

My theory is this is happening to some women now and they are getting to see how it feels. Not to say anyone is entitled to have romance/sex with anyone else. But it’s not a good feeling when the other person plays dumb to your feelings, is it?

I have literally never heard of a single guy friendzoning a woman and meaning it if she offered sex. Except one guy and he was asexual.

Well no offense but you are 18 and most guys your age will bang anything at anytime as long it is at least semi-attractive. Not all of them but most of them.

But let’s get semantics correct. The friendzone is when one person is romantically and/or sexually interested in another person and the other person doesn’t feel the same (but wants to keep the person as a “friend”). The non interested person usually plays dumb because they have their own ulterior motives (they like the attention, want to use other person to make someone else jealous, etc).

Friends with benefits is when sex is happening, both people are friendly but no romantic commitment is happening. That’s because one or both people don’t want a relationship.

What you were really describing earlier is really accurately described as the f*ckzone. Girl has strong romantic interests for the guy. Guy just wants sex but doesn’t want to date. She gives in quickly thinking he will date her but he doesn’t. That’s a different scenario and it’s not the friendzone.

Again, I have never seen a single guy turn down sex from a single girl when she’s the one offering. But you’re right, I mostly know guys my age.

And there’s nothing wrong with a girl wanting to be just friends with a guy. It just doesn’t usually happen the other way around. And when it does, the guy almost always says yes if the girl offers to have sex with him (or anything sexual, not always actual sex) if he’s single (I say almost always because like you said your experience may be different).
