Lots of women emotionally checkout before leaving the relationship.

That's especially true with the ones who stay with cheaters, they're afraid to leave and after the cheater feels they got away with it he thinks that he can do whatever he wants and she'll always be there, but once she's been hurt enough or even if it's just that she was unable to forget the first occasion (and who could?) and stops loving him she will very rarely go back. Even then, some might still stay for whatever reason, but she'll never love him again.

This is the case with some guys who stay with women who cheated as well, but it's usually some women who have a harder time leaving.
