Petty girl behavior to other girls?

I work with girl and she’s cool with me for the most part I think but then she seems like she doesn’t like me and is rude other times. For example we got free breakfast and I made a comment and said one of the sauces were hot and she immediately quipped “Well I like it.” Umm, didn’t say I didn’t like or dislike was just making a statement. Why do girls do this?

Girl... that does sound a little petty of her. Some girls just be competitive for no reason, you know? It's like they always gotta one-up each other or can't handle another girl complimenting something.

I wouldn't take it too personal though. She probably insecure about something in her own life and trying to act all tough. Just smile and nod when she gets like that - don't give her the reaction she want!

Keep doing you. As long as you nice to everyone, who cares what some clown thinks. And if she keep nitpicking, just ignore. Ain't nobody got time for foolery at work. You got bigger things to worry about!

She'll probably settle down and see you ain't no threat. If not, oh well - her loss. Don't change your awesome self just cuz she tryna start stuff. Rise above it sis!

sounds like she is pretending to be smart to imply stuff, this is usually due to either low self esteem or jealousy that you are smarter.

try telling her a short story that you read, maybe she will attack it. you say "you noticed the problem." then she won't feel so insecure.

That’s an interesting point. She’s actually taking a program from me (my department switched up programs on everyone and she took one of my old ones) and I told her I was going to email her helpful information regarding it to help with the transition and she questioned me.
