From a shy guy talking with with women POV, little to no engagement to show not interested. And if I had people skills I would let her know in a kind subtle way

I dont like the word rejection but have dismissed someone by avoiding eye contact with them, and little conversation engagement with them because not physically attracted if Ill admit but also if personality-wise she doesn’t have the demeanor I favor I would not engage either

The opposite is also true if Im interested. I’d say enough interactions where I could engage with her longer and open up to more intimate conv with her. This starts by frequent glancing, crossing her paths more often, slowing down when around her, even eventually hinting for her and I to share some time together at lunch, walks, etc. However, if she’s around her friends I personally never approach due to the pressure of maybe embarrassing her and myself around her friends and one shouldn’t gauge the engagement level in these certain cases

I would thank her for the interest and just let her know I am with someone (even if I am not).

I know it's a little fib, but I can't bring myself to say that I am not attracted to her as that is uncalled for.

I'd have to give her props for the effort approaching me and I wouldn't want her to feel bad just because I may not be attracted to her. Hopefully, she goes away still feeling positive about the effort, so she'll do it again and meet someone that reciprocates the attraction, someday.

"Hit up"? I presume you mean heavy flirting.

If a guy isn't interested and he's rude, he'll say something rude or "peacock" in front of his buddies for a bit bc you just fed his ego. This happens a lot with the "player" types, "macho" guys, etc. etc.

If a guy isn't interested and he's a gentleman, he'll make a polite comment but try to brush you off with visual distancing (not looking at you or trying to avoid looking at you). This happens rather a lot with cute married guys, etc. etc.

If a guy isn't used to being approached at all and you approach him he might show disinterest bc he presumes you're mocking him. (Go figure... but yes, I've actually seen this happen among my guy friends.)

Don't be too persistent bc it makes you, as the girl, look cheap. Leave your card. If he takes you up on it, great, if he doesn't, he's not the only guy on the planet, you know? Move on.

"If a guy isn't used to being approached at all and you approach him he might show disinterest bc he presumes you're mocking him." I have done this but the way it was handled I'm still 90% sure she was actually mocking me. Grew up with all the girls in the class just seeing me as someone you'd never date so that made me insecure for a while, until I discovered many girls actually love my personality.

@DishLady. Well said. My job is rescuing people from dangerous situations on major highways, handling accidents, chemical spills, etc. We also assist motorists with basic vehicle problems. Women often want to give me the business card or ask me for my number, and I just politely defer and/or give them my unit #.

Ok so to be fair being the only guy in a place full of girls is a +/- sort of thing. You get a tough skin about all the bashing from your sisters/cousins/classmates but then you need to be able to take all that with a “grain of salt” attitude and accept genuine interest.

@DishLady. I had one lady, in a car filled with girls, she grabbed my helmet and tried to kiss me! WTF, "lady this is all on camera and you about about to get me fired".

The regulations for unwanted attention go both ways today. It’s just that fewer guys tend to report it bc they don’t want to seem … I guess unmanly in some way. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Whether I was in the guy’s or girl’s place, I’d offer a polite thanks and brush off. If the person persisted it would be a stronger brush off and a report.

I had it happen, once. That's about it

I was working at my old job. I was still fairly young, but not like THAT young. My job was at a building in front of a local high school, so, everyday, some of the high schoolers would stop by and just hang out before they went home. Anyway, i guess a girl that had come in, was sort of into me. She was ok looking, i guess, but, not really my cup of tea. I knew she was a minor, so, while i was polite and talked to her for a few, before getting back, i was like, well, you know im over 18, right? and she's like "oh, ok, im sorry"

I just went about my business, and never saw her again. the job was then moved to a new location, and i lost my job, because they were doing budget cuts with the move. I had been one of the mot recent hires, so, yeah

Politely reject or if I can avoid it ill purposefully ruin my chances with her. Typically I do it preventative by amplifying some undesirable traits. Like ill talk about my ex more than usual for example or maybe ill joke with the fact she's not in to me so she doubles down on it, etc. I just have my natural subtle ways of doing the reverse I'd do with someone who I wish to fall in love with me. That way the girl never has to feel rejected, she will just think I'm not that special.

For real, I use other females. It's like the ultimate roadblock to a female trying to trap you in some bullshit.

lets be real... a chick that has it out for you, isn't going to stop until another female is in the way.

so use women as a human body shield against women. It gets rid of the white nights even.

I get that a lot in the gym. They are not hitting me up but they hover near me and watch and maintain eye contact. I can tell that they need sex because they haven't had any in a while. I get all types though and sometimes I can be to picky or miss opportunities when I know I should have gone on instinct. I should just take any gal that obviously wants me.

Gals very rarely actually do this but rather do some ambiguous flirting which can be ignored.

If she'd actually hit on me but I was not interested I would just decline politely.

Thank you but no thank you.

I try to let her down easy and either say I am not interested or have a girlfriend. Most of the time I might try to talk to her and see if there is a spark then we might have something there.
