I told this girl about my gym crush, even she goes to same gym.. All of a sudden she started saying that the guy I like notices her.. Earlier when she had no clue about my crush she used to say that the guy looks at me, now she says that he notices her too.. She even said that the reason she's not coming to the gym these days is because she wants the guy to notice me and not her.. She even liked his post on Instagram despite the fact that they've never spoken a word with each other neither have they exchanged names or social media.. She got his Instagram handle through me, even I don't follow that guy because we've barely spoken and it would be so awkward to follow him.. I just stalked his profile and sent it to that girl, she straightaway liked his post.. Why is she doing all this?

Hmm it really seems like she's jealous and trying to insert herself into the situation with your gym crush. A few possibilities:

- She likes the attention of being competitive with you over a guy, even if she's not seriously interested in him.

- Secretly she may have a crush on him too now that she knows you like him. So she's trying to get his attention away from you.

- She could be insecure in general and feels threatened that you like someone, so she has to one-up you.

- By saying he notices her too, she wants to get under your skin and make you insecure in case things don't work out with him.

It's annoying for sure. I'd just grey rock her when she tries to one-up you about him in the future. Don't give her the satisfaction of seeing it bothers you. Stay confident! You said it yourself - they've barely interacted. Maybe distance yourself from her a bit until she gets over her jealousy. Not much you can do about her behavior, honestly. Boys come and go, but real friends are forever!

She might not be a girl’s girl, I’d stay away from her and stop sharing your future crushes with her in case she decides to try and one up you. Seems like she could be competitive or jealous of the attention that you’re getting but at the same time, she could just genuinely be excited about your crush.
