They pretty much have an "ideal woman" image being pushed in their faces 24/7. Women feel (and force on each other) an insane amount of pressure to look, behave and live a very particular way, and there's often extremely little useful guidance on how to be those things in a healthy way. If you were always being told that something is wrong with you if you aren't exactly XY and Z; you'd be looking for constant validation too.
