Girls’ what turns you on more? a confident guy or a shy guy?

From my experiences with girls , most girls’ I came across were attracted to a confident guy , over a shy guy , I am not saying girls’ don’t like shy guys’ but it seems confidence works best? I use to be somewhat shy , I was never fully shy when I was younger , I think it’s because I was molested by an older woman when I was a kid , A lot of my male friends were shy when it came to seeing a beautiful girl , and I would bust his balls and tell him to just go talk to her , and he wouldn’t do it , So I said I will do it for him , so I would and I tried hooking my buddy up with a girl and she had no interest in him , but she was interested in me? I love shy guys that are lonewolves. The ones who sit on a bench alone listening to music in their headphones. The ones who skate around the skatepark alone. The ones who walk their own path and don’t crave being a sheep/follower. I don’t really like how mysterious they come across in the beginning. But a lot of shy guys have no issue opening up to me despite remaining shy around others. I love how special it makes me feel. Its also more fun to tease a shy guy than someone arrogant who just throws themselves at you

A man or guy that exudes confidence is fine. But when he starts getting too confident he comes off as being cocky!

Being cocky is a huge turn off!!!
A man or guy needs to know how to filter his confidence so he doesn't come off as being cocky.

As for the shy type of guy, well, they need a way to build up at least some confidence othwise you are just protoplasm walking around on this earth. I don't mean to come off as putting down the shy guys, because they can remain shy if they want to, if that is just the way they are. Because a lot of shy type people are often very intelligent people. And they do well working alone discovering amazing things in science, human health research, etc.

So YAY for both the confident guys and the shy guys.

Also, I am not trying to infer that confident men and guys are not intelligent because a lot of them are very intelligent as well.

Girls prefer confidence because they view it as a proxy for competence. In women's younger years they are particularly prone to be attracted to the braggadocious men. Unfortunately for them, the Dunning-Kruger effect exists. Confidence doesn't necessarily equate to competence.

I don’t think I’d use the terms “confident” vs “shy”… perhaps “capable” is a better term.


A capable guy has a bunch of qualities and his confidence draws from that (as opposed to a guy who is overly confident for no valid reason). A capable guy has inner fortitude (spiritual, intellectual, psychological) along with the physical and social capacities to attain his goals. He also has a “softer” side reserved for those he loves and is capable of protecting as an act of genuine affection and appreciation.


I make the distinction bc “shy” guys and “nice” guys tend to WANT to be a certain way and then create excuses to back down…. What I’d want is a GOOD guy… a capable one.

Yeah confidence. Goes back around to fact women want a man who can lead. We want a man to take care of us. Then we take care of his children. We don't need him to BE like another child to take care of.

That's in essence. Cos we do actually wanna take care of our man too. But it's more of a supporting role.

As for your friend situation... you showed you had balls. Your friend didn't. Plus physical attraction is gonna play a part and perhaps it just happened to be thar she liked you not him on looks.
