I'm friends with a gal I met in BioChem. I liked her at first, but she didn't reciprocate so I agreed to just be friends last year.
She recently heard I had feelings for a different girl in class, and reached out to "check in and confirm if this is true". I agreed, and told her all about the girl, but she did not take this well. Why would this be an issue if she was truly just a friend?

What Girls & Guys Said

No it wouldn't be an issue. There's probably two possibilities. Either she doesn't like this girl/they have drama, or she's jealous and likes you. It could even be both. You said she doesn't reciprocate the feelings, but things can totally change. If you guys are close enough friends you should just ask her why she's bothered by this. I'm always supportive of my male friends, regardless of who the girl is. So obviously this is different than a normal friendship.
Oh got it; yeah, I'm confused because my actual* female friends have been ecstatic, as they happen to really like the new girl having seen her around campus & interacted with her. I'll have to have a more firm chat with her to see what the reasoning is, as I'm kind of hurt that she seems to be trying to steer me far away from the new girl.
You're right, and that is kind of rude of her. Good idea about talking to her and good luck
Some people are possessive even when they are not "interested" in that way.
