Is it normal that some random woman I don't even know would ask me for opinions on the skirts she tried on in the dressing room?

For context, I'm in my early 20s. She looked like she was in her late 20s to early 30s. I live in America, I'm White, she seemed like an Asian foreigner who couldn't speak English all that well, or at least not without a prominent accent.

But anyway I was walking in the mall checking out all the different stores, and I entered this clothing store (I think JcPenney?) and started to look around at all the different items. I was done looking and was about to exit the store. Suddenly she comes up to me saying "Hey hey hey wait wait wait!" And then I stop. Then she says "I wanna talk about skirt!"

And I was like okay fine. Then she points towards the skirt she had on now and asked "Is this skirt short?" For context it was about mid-thigh. Then I gave her a long and detailed explanation on how it depends on the occasion and stuff for which it may be an appropriate length or an inappropriate length.

After I was doing explaining she looked at me for a bit and said "You're nice. I like how you give me a looooooooooot of detail!"

And so I exited the store. Then before I left the mall I was just revisiting all the different stores, and was back to JcPenney, and she was still there trying on skirts, and she came up to me and was like "Hey hey hey! I wanna talk more about skirt!"

And then I was like okay. And she was like "Can I wear this skirt to a party?" For context this one was mid-thigh like the other one. Again I gave her a long explanation about how it depends on the context and everything. And then she was like "What about for a date with my boyfriend sitting across from me?" And I basically gave her the same general explanation. And she was like "Thank you hun! I know which skirts I must buy now!"

And I was glad she was done talking and asking questions. I'm an introvert so I'm not used to strangers approaching me like this, but at least the interactions weren't that bad.

Anyway, is this a usual thing that happens?

Depends some girls are open like extroverted.

Most are not and she might have done that to a lot of guys like you. Hoping to be picked up and flirted with.

Maybe scout the mall see if she does this to a lot of guys. Trying to date

Hoping to be picked up and flirted with also makes sense. I already have a girlfriend, but if I was single I'd have nothing to lose anyway. In that hypothetical situation might be worth it just for the experience, not that it would automatically mean she's "the one" or whatever

As for scouting the mall, I don't really go there regularly and I don't know if she does either, lol. Either way, I have better stuff to do than observe some random woman I might not even see again.

If I was single MAYBE it'd be worth it, but not as it is. Lol.
