I think people have forgotten how dangerous bears actually are.

We're constantly seeing how men are dangerous and how they rape, murder, kidnap and torture. A lot of women have had first hand experience with how dangerous a man is, we see it all over the news and hear about it from friends and family.

However, a bear attack isn't very popular in news outlits. It's there, but it's not widely seen. What's widely seen is the more "domesticated" bears at the zoo lounging around and playing with the zoo keepers.

I think it’s just stupidity. How many women have actually had a daily encounter w a bear? Not just once per day but numerous times per day. Most likely 99.999% of them never have unless you work in a zoo or something where you’re working w bears daily. It’s an imaginary scenario that probably would never happen to all women so they think their odds are better of surviving w a bear than a man. I wonder how it would if magically we could replace all men in society w a bear. Than how would these women do walking past numerous bears?

Globally the annual bear attacks on humans is 39.6. there's appropriately 1.4 million bears in the world. So that's 0.002%.

Calculating attacks by men globally is a bit harder.
So let's look at the USA in 2012 there was 6,972,023 violent crimes committed by men. There was 154.4 million men in the USA that year. 4.1%

And you also know that you wouldn't pick a bear. And you also know that female children do more violence than bears do. Like I said, don't like that narrative? Feel free to change it. Arguing about why it's stupid or illogical to pick the bear does nothing to change the fact that men are violent and women often are victims of in particular sexual violence at the hands of men. Just not being a part of the problem does not mean you are a part of the solution. You don't sexually assault people? Great! But do you keep your friends and family accountable? Would you speak up if you saw a man assaulting someone? Would you believe a woman in your life if she came to you and said your friend assaulted her? Or do you victim blame? Do you continue the narrative that women are "asking for it" because of the way they dress or act? Do you believe it's not sexual assault because they're in a relationship?
