Hi, if you read the title I'm sure a lot of people can relate, but it really sucks.
There is this girl I work with and have known for 2 years. Since I first met her I was attracted to her and really liked talking to her but she was seeing another man at the time. Fast forward to 1 year later they were no longer together. Then Her and I grew a lot closer as friends at work only. Then she became my neighbor and moved in right near me in the same complex.
When this happened, we started texting everyday and we grew pretty close. Her and I started going out (as friends) and grew even closer. She even met my parents at one point and she would let me drive her car where we would then talk in the parked car for hours.
But this whole time we were coworkers and just friends, and that is what I thought at the time because she is super talkative and outgoing and likes to make friends with everyone. I assume that is how it is with me as well.
Some instances make me think otherwise such as; she told me I looked and acted exactly like her old boyfriend, she is constantly staring at me at work, when face to face she stares deep into my eyes for the longest time while smiling not saying a word, and she will always give me the biggest hugs or rest her head on my shoulder.
Without any context it would sound like she likes me, but with the context I have I think that we are only close friends. The problem is, I have always liked her since we first met. I can't take it anymore. I got a new job so we don't work together anymore, so I don't see her in person anymore, and don't want to be only texting (too much).
I have been thinking to just straight up tell her how I feel and prepare for the rejection or simply tell her we can't be friends anymore because of how I have always felt and it will make things weird and different moving forward. My other friends have said they all think we both like each other.
I hate having to come to the internet to do so, anyone have any good advice?
