Why do girls act like they don’t sexualize men?

This question was sparked by two things involving the gym primarily. First was a video I watched of a girl starting her own gym and putting up a sign with the rules and the first rule was no men. Second was a conversation I had with a female co worker at the time I didn’t say anything but she said one of the reasons she doesn’t like going to the gym is because men act like they’ve never seen a woman before implying that men act like a bunch of horn dogs. It strikes me as crazy how women go around in everyday life saying these blatantly sexist things about men without a second thought even crazier that it’s just accepted as normal. A common criticism a lot of guys throw woman’s way is there behavior in the gym it’s frankly made men uncomfortable in a space that was primarily male dominated for a long time. Now woman have been thrown more and more into the mix and are basically harassing and making a lot of dudes uncomfortable because they think every guy is creeping on them even glances in a certain direction are an issue now seriously? It’s even crazier to me how woman complain about men sexualizing there body but I’ve been to the gym on many occasions. And when a dude is doing some heavy weight without a shirt on better believe there are some ladies in there staring him down. Not saying there aren’t some weirdos out there but we are all at the end of the day just tryna get a work out in and go home.

A majority of women don’t get sexualize. They’re just taught to always be fearful either by other women or by their female friends. Sometimes by experience. But a major majority of men aren’t doing that. Not to mention it’s subjective. There’s no real definition of where it becomes sexualized or harassment. A man could say good morning sunshine then be accused of sexual harassment. It all depends on the girl as far as what she feels is sexual harassment. Men these days walk on eggshells when they’re around women. Honestly I think women are starting to sexualize men more these days. But most men don’t care, we don’t make a big deal of it. You know how many women at work call me hun or sweetie working in the hospital? Quite a bit but it doesn’t bother me. A lot of women go to sporting events not for the game but because they like how the men look in their uniforms. That’s sexualization. A lot of women vote for certain men because they’re handsome. A lot of women voted for Clinton because they thought he was handsome. Bottom line a lot of women are hypocrites in a lot of things. To only have an all female gym but demand that girls be allowed into boys scouts or strictly male military academies.

I see where your coming from but I don’t think littler stuff like that she be a big deal on both ends of the spectrum. Think the problem is one of two things or both, the minority is becoming the majority or the voices of the minority have gotten to loud that there overshadowing the majority. And on the side of men a lot of men need to start caring. This type of behavior is really toxic and ruining the lives of a lot of dudes wheats gonna happen if we just continue to passively enable this behavior it’s only gonna get worse and I’m scared for the next generation. My generation gen z is already gone down as the most single generation by far it’s only gonna get worse I don't know how but I’d doubt it’ll get better if it keeps the trajectory it’s on.

because they're trying to preserve a societal narrative that women are morally superior to men and that includes objectification

women objectify men just as men objectify women. difference is there's less men worthy of objectification but the frequency is much higher

that means a man like Henry Cavill gets objectified more by women than a woman like Scarlett Johannsen gets objectified by men however men like Henry Cavill are rare within the male population while women like Scarlett Johannsen are more plentiful within the female population

I've had to change gyms twice because I've ended up with men coming at the same time as me and purposefully being near me at all times. Yes I thought I was just being crazy at first. But when I moved to a different area, so did they. Specifically getting on a machine directly behind the squat bar, coming up and spotting me without asking let alone letting me know he's there ! (I got a massive fright). Unfortunately these things are common issues that make women feel unsafe going to regular gyms. Especially given people tend to go to the gym the same days and times, some just feel safer in a womens only space.

Okay I see where your coming from but is there a chance that you as a woman could just be taking this g the wrong way I mean a guy coming over to spot you without touching asking I can see how it can be annoying when they a are obviously doing it in the squat rack. But I’ve also heard other woman complain about the complaints that you are making because now a lot of guys won’t help woman who are struggling on machines or in general out of fear for being called a creep or coming off in that way a lot of l these things go both ways even the one with the guys moving to machines to be meet you they could just be interested as this is something that girls pretty commonly do to get a guys attention at the gym which I’ve heard from a lot of gym guys. I say this not to say that your experience is wrong and is a valid one at that but to say that more often then not woman are doing a lot of the same things and are making guys just as uncomfortable cause now we can’t relax and be ourselves or even just be nice and try to help someone out. I think many woman more often try to speak to much for every woman as if this is such a big issue that they really need spaces where it’s segregated by gender when I don’t think it’s that big a deal but then again I am a guy so I don’t have that full experience or context.

Truth is unfortunately the women you are referring to are incredibly rare, I mean these situations like I have experienced are also on the grand scheme of things rare. We don't like making assumptions about men, it's not fun to always have to watch your back, but we have to keep our guard up just in case.

I definitely didn't take this guy the wrong way. It was months of this happening, of me changing my schedule around to try get in at a different time and he somehow always lined his schedule up the same.

Yet they pretend they don't dress skimpy for men.. but if all men just full ignored these dumb cunts they would honestly have a fit and start making videos about that.. It’s actually pretty sad I think a lot of men don’t see a way to win do they settle and settle for woman who are in a lot of cases not in the same league as the guy and those guys end up miserable
