I've met a lot of women who shame short or blue collared guys and their reason is because "It's just a preference.", but when a man says he doesn't want to date overweight women or that he doesn't wanna date a woman who sleeps around, they jeer "body shaming" or "slut shaming".
Sounds like you just came across the wrong people so far 🤷🏻♀️ No one should shame anyone for their preferences. That behavior is just as bad as anything... But don't listen to judgmental people like that when they clearly don't have anything better to do 🤦🏻♀️

1 yI don't have a problem with it. Everyone is entitled to their preferences. I'd just say that we get out of life what we put into it, to an extent.
If a guy wants a beautiful, sweet and fit woman, he has to be aware that women like that have options, just like if a woman wants a tall, good-looking, well-off guy, she has to realize he also has options. Either we rise to the occasion and become the best option, or whine about the unfairness of life and how horrible people are for not valuing us when we haven't put in any effort. The decision rests with us. Sure, a guy can't become taller, but there are short guys who are incredibly masculine and have the respect of other men. There are women who are not conventionally beautiful, but can be fit, feminine and seductive. It's taking what you have and working with it.
People are always going to be upset when they can't get what they want because it's hard to swallow rejection. But at some point we have to take that pain and let it motivate us.

See this kind of comment is unnecessary because there’s still a measure of almost blame to it; instead of just saying ‘people go for what they are attracted to’ you almost make it seem like a guy owes all that to get with someone he’s into.
People are entitled to their standards. Men and women both. Don’t settle. And honestly most guys don’t need an athlete just someone with a healthy skin weight. @beaves11 It simply depends on our standards and our equivalency to those standards. That's all I am saying. And I would never judge a guy for admitting he isn't attracted to a fat woman. I'm not attracted to fat men, why would I consider him shallow for having a preference? However, I could understand his lack of success if he is obese and also only attracted to fit women. I don't know if that makes sense, but hopefully it clarifies a little.
And I do agree that no one should settle. That's a terrible thing to do.- 1 y
@beaves11 @TheRealPepperPotts is right and you are wrong. Almost everyone settles or they do without. If your standard is a movie star and you will never settle, you will never marry or have a relationship.

Excellent response
- 1 y
@Kelly1 no, most people don’t settle. That is a total cynical viewpoint and given your comment history only proves that you are overtly negative about this.
People do find different things attractive. There’s millions of each of our types out there, it’s just about finding that reciprocal attraction.

From my own research and experience, we have been telling women since 1945 that they are wonderful creatures who can do no wrong. Women today don't fart or shit. They instead fart rainbows and shit puppies out. And because of all the indoctrination from universities and public school coupled with women's proclivity for camaraderie and consensus building at the expense of honesty are contributing factors for narcissism. The notion that men can have standards and preferences flies in the face of many women today. Thusly causing them to recoil in shock that a man's interests and values do not align with their world view.
60 Reply735 opinions shared on Girl's Behavior topic. Women feel threatened when men have standards or preferences, because it limits them. They are expecting men to be available or at least not be "picky" because it would mean they can always have a guy if it doesn't matter what she is to him.

Anonymous(25-29)1 yStandards/preferences for anyone just isn't a good thing because it means they aren't looking for real love but someone to just use.
I have noticed with men tho they seem to have preferences that aren't permanent like wanting a younger woman, certain weight/body type, hair color. Like those things change with time so it's very odd to choose a forever partner based on those things. Height and usually job most people keep for a long time and are more permanent so having those preferences are reasonable
29 Reply- 1 y
People change and age so believe whatever you choose. If a guy chooses a fit beautiful girl when she is twenty, she will look better at age 50 than if he has chosen a 20-year-old fat girl. Perhaps you will point out a one-in-a-thousand exception and argue that. However, rare exceptions don't make the rules.
Opinion Owner1 y@Kelley1 many people who are fat when young acutally work on themselves. I wouldn't say that's rare at all. It's acutally quite common for fitness trainers to have that exact story of being young and overweight and getting healthy later on in life
Opinion Owner1 y@Kelley1 not arguing anything false. It's very true. And many fit people in their 20s do a reverse and get fat in their mid life

If you have no standards, then your affection becomes emptier
We don't want it anymore
Opinion Owner1 y@morganherrel having no preferences just makes you less shallow and acutally in love with your partner for who they are
- 1 y
@Apple1996 it means you value nothing or have low expectations
Opinion Owner1 y@morganherrel I value when someone truly loves me for me and doesn't have a type that they're just seeking out
- 1 y
@Apple1996 that's nice, and I didn't mean it has to be a "type"
1 yThey want everything on "easy mode" and they're collectivists, so even if they don't know what they're talking about, they'll defend it and call each a 10/10 catch even if she's obviously not.
Now the women that are smarter than them and don't collectivize with those women, are not what I'm talking about and they, in fact, join me in pointing at those women and calling them retarded.21 Reply
1 yGreat question. It's a complicated issue, but part of it has to do with the fact that women's preferences are typically shared publicly while male standards are typically shared privately. Combine that w/ the fact that most women believe that if they don't like something it means that it's inherently wrong. Combine that w/ the fact that men typically approach and you're starting to get your answer. Think about it like this. If a man is able to have success using a cold approach on a woman, we understand as men that he went through hundreds of rejections just to get the one yes. Women only see the one yes, therefore in their head they view themselves as so special that men ignore all other women for them. If you were to explain this publicly, men would be criticized while women would be praised.

1 yPersonally I think everybody should have standards and preferences about whoever they date. As long as you respect everybody, why should it be anybody's else's business? It's ridiculous that people are so judgmental and opinionated about everybody's dating preferences.

1 yYou're entitled to your preference, but the whole world doesn't need to hear it every 5 minutes. I've seen men go out of their way to tell a girl they're not attracted to that they aren't attracted to them because of xyz reasons. Like nobody but you needed to know that.
10 Reply It's probably because women are hardwired to be emotional and what we say towards them immediately has an impact on them. Us men are hardwired to be stoic, thus we can't get hurt even if a woman becomes abusive to us. Ironically, modern feminists out here in this platform shout "gender equality" but deep inside, they just want superiority making the "men have done this and that before" as a card, while ironically enjoying the benefits of the patriarchal system such as, having free dates and not even bother initiating it for the guys they're seeing.

1 yBecause it makes them feel bad in an area in which they have typically more power than the opposite side. Rejection is their privilege, not ours. Most of the time anyway.
Forget about the power. They just don't like feeling bad about themselves. I mean nobody does but with the words body shaming or slut shaming they have something that helps them to feel less bad. I suppose coping is the technical term for it.

1 yYou’re fixated on what people think. That’s the problem. There are plenty blue collar guys who get dates and attract women; it’s nothing to do with their vocation necessarily and more to do with their perspective. And if you’re meeting women whose first impression is based on your salary or trade- tells me you’re aiming not just for shallow women, but shallow people. Is that truly the company you want?

1 yWomen from 18 to about 40 are used to being able (and expected) to reject even hot guys, while men are seen as so randy they'll give their boy joy to even ugly broads.(And plenty will), thus men who set standards are regarded picky and shallow, while women are shamed if they're too ready to share thei bed with a boy.(Some is biology, but some is historic).

30 ReplyFat women resent it when men say, "I'd never date a fat woman."
43 ReplyFat women are fat for a reason
- 1 y
@LadiesFavoriteToy There are a number of reasons. Mostly, it is the government's policies and laws that resulted in normal food being removed and replaced with foods that make us fat. Prior to the 1950s before our corrupt government eliminated whole milk and all kinds of other normal foods, very few people were fat.
A lesser but also a very important reason is hereditary; that is, the genes they inherited. After that, it is on the people themselves. Sounds like an excuse
Anonymous(25-29)1 yWomen who are insecure about themselves have problems with standards they don't meet just like men - but the truth is, (if they'd think logically) they wouldn't go for that guy anyway so I don't know why it matters.

1 yIt's called "battle of the sexes." Women are greedily asserting their self interest. That's literally it.
Requiring that a woman be not fat—very easy thing to ask for—is considered bigotry and makes an average American man extremely unlikely to find a partner today.

Bro your level of cynicism is wild is disproven by my average trip to the shopping mall. You’re acting like slender women are some rare breed when they aren’t.
You’re also basing standards on rarity not set metrics. In a world where every girl was my type and slender that doesn’t mean they are less attractive to me because they are more available, just like if every woman was overweight doesn’t make them more attractive either or dateable to me.
If you live your life by stats I truly have nothing but pity for you. - 1 y
