Is my daughter a typical girl?

I was recently travelling with my kids through a rural area going to visit family. My oldest son said he needed to pee, there were no bathrooms or rest areas in the immediate vicinity so I pulled the car over on a gravel road leading to a wooded area. All three of my kids got out and my oldest did what he needed to do. My youngest (daughter) of 5 years old must have decided it was in her best interests to use the stop to pee, she retrieved a Kleenex from the car and went pee like a girl would in the absence of a toilet, she didn’t care that I or her brothers were there and completed. I wonder if it’s typical for a girls that age to simply not care and simply do what they need to do.

I don’t understand why this is strange. The boys went to pee because they had to and she went to pee because she had to… I’m glad you didn’t think twice about it. I don’t see why she’s expected to think she shouldn’t pre when everyone else is?

I don't recall ever doing that, but at that age, kids don't really think about what others would think about doing that.

She has 2 older brothers, they live in a rural area, I know she sees her brothers peeing outside all the time, I guess she figures why can’t I. I was impressed by the independence she showed.

A kid follows acceptable behaviours they have observed around them. At 5yo, I think she is mainly influenced by family members only. Then she'll be influenced by larger and larger spheres, school might be the smallest, society is the largest.

A typical kid does not exist by the way, there are just kids influenced by whatever is influential around them

My GD has always done similar when there is no toilets on the road, I try and avoid public rest rooms anyway because of hygiene concerns, she usually just squats and pees and doesn't care who is around,,,

She is 5 dude. At that age she managed to do it on her own is impressive. Don’t think too much take proper care of her.

Sounds okay to me. Young kids are innocent, and only learn about societal rules and expectations when they get older.
