It's just biology. You can't change the way people are created. That's like asking why guys like looking at beautiful women (the other side of that validation you're talking about). And the truth is it's just the way humans are. Some will deny it, but it doesn't change reality. Don't stress about it. Just be worried if your SO is going to far with it. That goes for men and women both.
