A bikini is also somewhat more practical than a one piece since it makes going to the bathroom much easier, and if you like to feel the sun on your skin and/or get a more even tan then a bikini is also better for that. Though of course a one piece is less likely to come off while swimming rigorously than a bikini, and offers more skin protection if you want that.
