I don't have a particular need to dump all my feelings or especially fears on anyone.
With a girlfriend, I would only share honest thoughts and feelings that were beneficial to our relationship.

I'm comfortable sharing just about anything with my wife, but even then I don't burden her with unnecessary bullshit that would add to her anxiety. My job is to make her feel safe and secure.
We do talk a lot, though. We don't hide things from each other. She knows more about me than does anyone else.
Besides, I'm not a worrier and am not afraid of much aside from maybe finances.

This is fair, but do you realize you said "your job is to make her feel safe"? I agree with this wholeheartedly, but there are plenty of fair weather women who will never reciprocate when a man inevitably hits some hardship.

That's probably true. My wife and I have been through ups and downs. She has proven her loyalty repeatedly. We're a team. We are dedicated to each other and to our marriage vows.

Specifically, I don't know. I have to think social media and other single women are conspiring to make married women miserable.

I just wonder how much guys' behavior contributes to a lot of that.

Certainly some, but I'm divorce statistics women cite being "bored", having "grown apart", and similar things. The man wasn't exciting enough seems to be the biggest theme.

Even those things have nuances. Did they feel taken for granted or unappreciated? Did the guys talk to them, treat them as equal partners, make them feel valued and respected? Do they make them feel adored and sexually fulfilled?
Do they encourage them to pursue hobbies or passions? Do they do fun things together like taking day or weekend trips to explore interesting places?

A rock. The rock won't use information against me later or as a subtle manipulation that I might not even notice until the power plays are being made and I'm relying on my fail safes to save my ass.

Plus I don't want to destroy that fume of mystique I have going on... the most she's going to know about me is that sometimes I fart and then hold her head under the covers and giggle my ass off like a school girl wearing a ballerina outfit that just got told I'm cute. That's when I ask her..."Can you smell what the Rock is cooking!!!"

That's the plan anyhow... age makes me think twice. If my IBS is kicking up I might not attempt it because I could shart on myself.
