Well, it's hard to describe, but sex brings every part of a relationship (emotional, physical, logistical, etc etc) into play at once. So when you have a really healthy and fulfilling relationship, sex is also really healthy and fulfilling. That's why sex can be so healing :)

So, with your friend's history of toxic partners, having a partner who's a "wonderful guy" must be INCREDIBLY healing for her.

I think it's just that she's really happy. Naturally, when you're happy, you want to tell everyone about what happened that makes you so happy and how well everything is going. Especially if you have some really close friends who've been with you through the hard times.
