I'm a girl but I will answer. As a young woman - not really a turn on so much as an appreciation, confidence in the love and support you feel from that guy. It can be negative if jealous and controlling. As an older married woman it makes you feel happy when your spouse is protective, although it is rare to have a situation requiring that feeling.
