Why do women (mothers) hate when their sons date or engage with older women?

Do mothers hate competition too?

I always noticed that whenever dudes date or engage in relationships with older women their mothers will always disapprove of this at all cost.

some will try to disown their son

claim he’s being “used”

scorn him for lacking standards

pick fights with the older girlfriend of theirs

and the list goes on. But I never understood why mothers behave this way. Is it because they don’t trust older women? Do they know older women are more conniving? Is it because they’re less likely to give them grandchildren?

what exactly is the conflict here? It sounds like only women will know the answer since they are the only once who understand one another

Depends on the older woman. Some are mommies boys so the mom might feel replaced (which she could feel the same way with a younger woman). However an older woman might trigger a feeling of insufficiency- that she's insufficient to her son somehow. The other common answer is the reasons you mentioned: child-bearing, dying sooner, etc. The dude in the picture seems happy. Many men date way younger women and I don't see many men complaining.

Because they are well aware that their Son has mother issues , and that is most probably their fault , he is looking for that which they could not give.
