Someone I was very close to last semester, got along with really well, spent a lot of time with, and had hours-long conversations with suddenly unfollowed me on Instagram without any argument or conflict. However, she didn’t unfollow anyone else—just me. Do you think this is an emotional reaction, or is it simply because she has lost all interest? What is the most likely reason for a girl to do something like this?

Because I cared about them a lot, but I was too shy to confess my feelings. I also thought they had feelings for me, but they were probably waiting for me to make a move. To me, it felt like we were flirting, and when I didn’t take a step forward, I think it might have put them in some kind of emotional distress. That thought upsets me because I truly value them.
