Being called the wrong name?

There is a lady that I’ve been working with for 1 year now and she’s always saying my name wrong. My name is Katherine and she keeps calling me Kathleen. I’ve corrected her so many times and she always goes back to calling me Kathleen. I told her Kathy is probably easy to remember. She calls me by it once and for some reason she goes back to calling me Kathleen. She says she keeps forgetting. I feel disrespected. I need advice please?

I would either start calling her the wrong name or ignore her until she calls you the correct name. There is no good reason for her not learning your VERY simple name other than to be disrespectful. This is done on purpose and I hope you put a stop to it.

My parents and everyone often called me wrong or mistaken me with my twin sister. I’m used for that.

That sounds quite disrespectful. Have you spoken with your manager about this? Are other interactions with her unpleasant?
