How do you feel when you have been getting someones name wrong for awhile?

I accidentally kept mispronouncing my coworkers name. She finally corrected me today. We been working together for a few months. I was like awkward 😬😅

i do try my best to get peoples names right though!

Thats not a problem for me because i always get people’s names right (ohh got a badass here!)

I just make a joke out of it or laugh at it off

In a world filled with names sometimes we get them wrong & I guarantee it’s not the first time & won’t be the last time. That was nice of your coworker to correct you after months & it would be funny if she didn’t correct you at all.

A long time ago a coworker kept calling me a different name & I never corrected her. A few years later I moved on & on my last day in that company they had a cake for me & a card in the break room. Long story short the lady that called me the wrong name found out my real name & she approached me laughing. Is your name Steve? I started laughing & said no. She said all these years I have been calling you the wrong name & you have been answering to it. I said I thought it was funny & just went with it.

I usually ask people how to say their name the correct way. It's so awkward when I'm trying to say it and they're like no.
