Why do most guys not hold door open for a woman regardless if she's walking in or walking out?

For a number of reasons. One being that a lot of women tell men we don’t need men. Women can do everything men can do. Also men don’t want to be accused of something they didn’t do like trying to hit on her. A lot of men these days just don’t think women are worth the effort. Some men have been chastised for opening the door for a woman so they stop all together.

I hold the door open for anyone, male or female, assuming they're an appropriate distance from the door.

It's just about being polite, as far as I'm concerned, and not necessarily anything to do with being chivalrous.

Is that a thing that's been happening now? Seems rude. I mean it doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman in my opinion. Hold the door if someone is coming through. It's just polite.

I always do. I had a friend who did once and was berated because she "didn't need a GD man to hold the door open for her!" I suppose that is the reason.
