It could be for a number of reasons.
Was there an emergency?
Was she upset or unable to sleep and needed someone to talk to?
Was she horny and wanted to meet up for sex?
Was she drunk and horny?

For a lot of reasons; the biggest is that midnight is in the "just no - o'clock" part of the day for me. Just no - o'clock is any time that there isn't really a good platonic reason that someone would hit you up. If you and I are casual friends, there's almost nothing you could tell me at midnight that can't wait until 8am the next morning. The few things you could tell me that couldn't wait are things we will have discussed before hand, so I'm expecting your call.

Beyond that, I have firm enough boundaries that I wouldn't have a "friendship" like that with anyone.
