When is someone playing hard to get?

I am in a situation now and my friends say this girl is playing a little hard to get. I don’t know what she wants to happen because of this game but it is genuinely the only reason i wasn’t sure if she liked me.

So this girl i am friends with for a while and i fell out of contact and she randomly hit me up at the start of this year and I haven’t seen her irl yet in a while so I don't know if we are even friends at this point. But she has been showing all the signs she is into me most days and then some days just full on ignores me while online.

My friend that is a little more experienced here says she is playing hard to get. So my question is: is she? And what are signs that someone is playing hard to get and isn’t just not interested

She could be shy or not know how to interact with you. Usually playing hard to get can be mistaken for being actually not interested. You should get someone to see if she likes you.

I was just with my mate and his girlfriend and they said there is a very big chance she is into me. Maybe sometimes playing hard to get but also that it might be because I haven’t been clear enough and that we both are just hovering around this idea. So i am going to proceed giving her more insight in what i think of her, making my intentions clearer
