Would prolonged eye-contact on its own make a straight woman wonder if a woman she just met was attracted to her?

If a long-haired woman with gentle mannerisms made prolonged eye contact with a man's wife, and asked the man's wife more questions than she did to him, would that be enough to make the wife wonder if the woman was secretly attracted to her (even if the woman presented herself with feminine hair and attire)? Or is it usually just other lesbians who would pick up on those types of things?
