Howcome men can find something attractive about a woman even if other features don’t appeal to them, whereas women usually can’t do the same with men?

For example, a man might not find a woman’s face attractive but could still say, “Well, at least she has a nice body.” In contrast, women are less likely to think that way—for instance, if a man isn’t facially attractive, most women wouldn’t say, “Well, at least he has nice arms,” or find him appealing just for that. It is certainly true that I actively look for features in a woman that appeal to me.

I like looking at women in the street walking past my cafe table. It is in the interest of my dopamine levels that I find something good to look at in as many women as possible. Mostly I do. Sub-second, I determine the most outstanding feature and focus on that.

Focus is necessary as you don't get to admire for that long. It is in fact fairly rare that I am undecided as to which feature to focus on most. As a detailed person, I am detailed in admiration. Only occasionally am i conflicted on the feature of choice..

The theory is that men focus on features because we look for fertility signs. However it is so closely intertwined with pleasure at beholding beauty, it doesn't add to understanding the phenomenon.

You’re talking about sexual objectification versus judgement based on personality. Women know what they are and are not attracted to and a majority of the time personality overrides appearance. Men mostly focus on appearance first and personality later.

So why do men get rejected more than women?

Because men mistake politeness for flirting as a result of an ingrained habit of sexual objectification. They can’t ever see a woman and not see her as sexy, and because of this confusion, he gets rejected when she has no interest in him

I wouldn't say either of those ways of thinking are gender exclusive. Personally, I need to find the girl attractive, but the whole package matters more.
