How do I know if a woman that's venting doesn't want solutions?

I'm aware sometimes if not all the time women vent to be heard not to hear solutions, so how do I know the difference, I have an issue with giving a solution for everything, I struggle to just listen and act like I don't know the solutions 😂

A lot of times when a woman has brought up a problem she's having and tells you, she doesn't want you to fix it. She just wants you to listen.

But if she's venting - like very loudly or emotionally, and she's venting about you, then she is struggling with something about you and wants you to stop doing whatever it is she's venting about. She wants you to find a solution and fix it.

It's hard to say without more information. It's a good idea to ask her. Just say "What do you mean by that"?

I used to confuse my late boyfriend sometimes, so we agreed that if he didn't really understand what I was talking about, he would just ask me "What do you mean"? And it would make him understand what I was talking about.

He told me, more than once, that guys want to fix things for his woman. So it's hard sometimes for a guy to know if she's just venting about something to you, or not. So the best thing to do is to ask her "Is this something you want me to fix, or do you just need to vent about something"?

Honestly mate, if a woman comes to me t vent I assume she wants a solution. It is as much on her as on me if that is wrong. I am predictable, we both should know what to expect.

I do try to gauge where the focus is. Sometimes it is fine to just ask if they want to resolve it or talk about it first. Means the same as asking if they want to vent or brainstorm ideas but generally seems to be better received.

Alright so like hear me out, when a lady starts telling me a problem; once i get an idea of what's going on i just ask her if she wants to vent or wants advice.

And then i do the thing that she picked, because im assuming she's my friend or girl friend or something. Works wonders, i promise

Jokes aside, most women just need someone to listen to them patiently and give them emotional support... sometimes, even a hug. They don't want you to offer solution or intervene. If they do, they'll definitely let you know by saying things like "What should I do?" 😅
