Why did my little sister lie?

So I asked my little sister yesterday if she likes drama, she said yes. So I sent her Sinder's thousand page drama google doc. She sees to be indifferent on this bundle of drama from a person she will never meet, doesn't know and don't care about.

Why did she lie to me about enjoying drama?

She did not. Normal communication assumes benign intent and a strive to interpret what others say as they intend it, rather than in the broadest or most narrow sense.

For example if I made the mundane statement that I dislike politicans you are expected to infer that to mean I dislike the negative political aspects attributed to them. Not every person engaged in politics or everything anyone in politics does. It is not me proclaiming I want anarchy.

Good faith communication is a basis for being able to speak to each other. Which is why so many TV shows trying to portray intelligence by having a wiseass correct people on technicalities is silly. Of course, unless said wiseass just enjoys it.

Do you perhaps just enjoy this?
