Ass kissers / "nice guys" are the ones who generally end up in the friend zone. Guys with no spine who try to please women are not masculine. They are needy whining simps or schemers. Women react to that subconsciously or consciously with doubt and fear. "If the guy seems too good to be true, he's probably lying to get something from her." It's probably the #1 red flag women are trained to detect in men.

The guys who win the girls are masculine, secure personalities who don't chase women with their tongues hanging out. They aren't afraid to say "no". And they aren't afraid to walk away. They don't overshare details of their life or their feelings. They also behave like that in the rest of their life. Which means they have a career and some accomplishments in life. They've done stuff. They have standards for themselves and other people. And they leave enough unsaid to create a little mystery that women find hard to resist. Basically they have masculine energy. And women will generally respond positively to that. It feels safer and more genuine than the phony "nice guy".
