It’s different for different women and sometimes even for the same women but different cycles. Some women have huge issues with pms or pmdd. So much that they need professional help. Some womens mood isn’t affected at all. For some women it’s basically the whole luteal phase, for some it’s the week or days leading up to the period and for some it’s during the period. Some also have issues right before/during ovulation even though it’s more common to feel good at that time. For some woman it’s a constant sad, angry, annoyed or depressed mood and for many its mood swings. Being angry one minute, laughing the next. Crying and then all of a sudden laughing and feeling happy only to start crying the next minute again, then suddenly angry. For me, I usually get a bit irritable and anxious the 1-2 days before my period starts and then hungry and sad in the evening the day before. I get sad and anxious around ovulation and in my luteal phase if I’m on a low carb diet or in a caloric deficit at that time. Sugary carbs (like pastries/baked goods) are usually an instant mood fix for me in those times.

Yes, they don't bother me that much.

I must say it is disturbing how many more men on here talk about periods than any women do.

In our defense it's strange to conceptualize that women get this random biological debuff that we have to figure out how to maneuver around

I'm extremely moody the first couple of days but it gets better. I have my random happy moments. I usually get back to normal throughout the end of the week.
