But now, at 46, I find myself thinking that finally fulfilling that old childhood wish would bring me a deep sense of satisfaction and closure. The only thing holding me back is that it feels a bit strange or awkward to me. I worry that when I try to learn at this age—wobbling around like a little kid—people around me might react with amusement or find it ridiculous, and that possibility is making me overthink everything quite a lot.
