Not really.
Something you need to understand is that a bicycle remaining upright when you ride it is due to angular momentum. The faster you go on a bike, the more angular momentum you will have and it will be harder for the bike to tip over on its side. But to get that speed, you need to pedal fast and burn a lot of calories. Young people with good metabolism can do this.
However, older folks generally don't have that metabolism and they can't pedal as fast, so they are more at risk of falling over on a bicycle.
Sound familiar?
It's the same exact thing with little kids and training wheels or a tricycle. Very little kids can't ride bikes because they can't pedal fast enough, so they have training wheels or a tricycle to keep them from falling over while they grow up and strengthen their legs so, one day, they can ride a bike.
Well, with older folks, a tricycle enables them to ride and get some healthy exercise with much less danger of falling over. After all, the rear wheels of a tricycle are like the training wheels on a kid's bicycle - they help keep the rider from tipping over.
Sort of. There are reasons. But it's pretty rare to see a fully fit adult riding a tricycle unless it's specially designed to haul a lot of stuff around. For instance the amount the woman in the photo has in the back. Of course North America most people don't live in areas conducive to using that sort of tricycle as your primarily vehicle.
they're expensive and slow so... not that popular.
It's a good choice for people who may have balance problems or just like to stop and watch birds without having to prop themselves up. Older people like to tool around on one in their trailer park to visit neighbors. So it's not weird at all, unless you get a bit over zealous. I'm just wondering how he gets on and off without a ladder.
It's weird here because our roads are very bike unfriendly but in any other country it would be fine. Also the basket is good to carry shopping in.
Where I live, the Portland, OR. area, it is very bike friendly, even have bike bridges over busy roads and wide bike lanes along roads. A lot of people bike to work around here and just use them for exercise.

Why would it be weird?
Fuck what people think and so what you want to do. People are obsessed with insta asses and dump tik tok challenges, why would anyone care about their thoughts?
No, I considered buying one a couple of years ago to get around then realised I lived in the bottom of a valley so it wouldn't get me further than I could walk
Weird, but not bad, especially if (as in the picture), there's a basket, or some other structural feature, that makes having the additional frame space make sense.
I'm considering getting one now, maybe even a quadricycle since they can come with a roof & windscreen so you can stay dry all weather's in it. Even a fibreglass cockpit.
No. My mom uses one. She's in her 70's it helps her get exercise where a bike might be challenging for her to keep her balance she can ride at her own speed without fear of tipping.

It would be. Except the kind in the photo make total sense for going shopping.
I don't think it is 🤔
The way this world is going you better get one
Look at all that space to carry stuff... makes much more sense.
Used to have one like the pic when I was a teenager. I raked the front end and then installed extended forks. Instant chopper trike!
I don't think so. As long as they are fine with it who am I to judge.
I don't think so it's weird
it's just a transportation thing only
Nope and is even more fun if you put a motor on it
Lol. That's actually quite clever.
Not weird, thought about buying one for exercise
They're so cool! I want onr
Not if it's recumbent or it's an elderly person.
I thought about getting a four wheeled bike.
Depends on the size of the tricycle
Yes , but I don’t care
Especially because carrying stuff is easy!
yes but she mental reterdation
B. Not at all.
It’s a little funny
