I had a small bike with training wheels when I was quite young. The boys on my street were all a couple years older than me.
One day they sort of made fun of my training wheels. They helped me to remove them and then gave me pointers, encouragement and guided me as I rode up and down my driveway.
My mom was concerned when she saw me but then relaxed when she saw me riding.
When I was about 10, the boys on the block all had Schwinn Junior 10 speeds, which were the current thing. I wanted one and got one for Christmas. It was one of the best presents I ever got up to that point. I was jazzed and went right out to ride up and down the street.
Mine was the only one that was red and I heard other kids say they wished they had gotten a red one.
I rode that bike to and from school, over two miles on way, and had it all the way through high school. I would ride for miles and miles, far from home.
I have a vivid memory of learning how to ride a bike, and the exact moment my parents took the training wheels off, but I don't remember exactly what age I was at the time.
I think I was about 6 years old, because we did it at the parking lot of my school, and I only went to that school for kindergarten and first grade.
I can't remember an exact age but I was very young and had a hard time learning.

Almost anyone can learn to ride a bicycle in about 30 minutes. Training wheels just retard learning. Lower the seat so your feet reach the ground, and coast down a gentle slope. Do this a bit, then try pedaling. Now you can ride a bicycle. Still a lot of room for improving skill but that's the start.
I was pretty young. I think my older brother might've taught me. I was so young that I don't really remember it.
I was born like that.
To bike is not a choice.
Pryor to 10 years old. I taught myself through a fair amount of "trial and error"
At the start of kindergarten, 3 years old.
Never owned one to even try.
